Stargazing at night in the Waterbergs is a transfixing experience. The Southern Cross and Milky Way illuminate the ethereal night sky - use the guide to identify the constellations.
Beautiful sunsets can be experienced each day. No advance booking needed! Golf in the bush at the Ranch’s own Monster Hole, 500+ meters long, features a majestic Waterberg backdrop. Between tee-off atop the ridge to the end of the first shot at our large pond’s edge, your only hazards are grazing animals. But don’t be surprised if you happen to glimpse wildlife! Your next shot is over the pond and down the valley to the par-5 cup. Your challenge: come in under par and win a drink, compliments of the staff!
Day-trip tours are also available within a range of 4 - 15km.

Things to do...
Game viewing and bird watching are just some of the activities at Mountainview. Guests can enjoy these activities on mountain bike, quad-bike or in open safari vehicles on day or night drives. For those who prefer closer encounters with nature, hike along more than 20 kilometers of roadways and trails accompanied by our experienced and knowledgeable guides.

Hiking at Mountainview provides an invigorating experience. Guests may choose hikes on mountain trails, rock climbing along waterfalls, or taking in the spectacular views of the Waterbergs from high on the cliffs above Mountainview. Take off for the day with our trail map, and make sure to take the challenge of our rope-supported wooden bridge that fords our unique water dam. Enjoy walks or jogs through the countryside on over 20 km of mountain roads that wind through a wide variety of landscapes. Stroll past swaying fields of grasses, or climb Angel Falls / Eagle Gorge for a more intense workout. Escorted hikes can be arranged, or sit back and relax while viewing the constantly shifting scenes of wildlife on an escorted game drive.
Mountain bikes are available for a leisurely ride around the compound.
Relax in luxury, or keep in shape at the Ranch’s Day spa. Complete with exercise equipment, massage facilities, shower, and of course, sauna.
For the young at heart, get an up-close experience with the animals in the Little Nursery petting zoo. Goats, chicks, geese, ducks and guinea fowl reside in our peaceful orange grove. Enjoy Barbara’s pond from its rope bridge, or plunge in and swim, tubing or "catch-and-release" fishing. It's a lovely spot for a picnic, brunch or sundowner. Gold in South Africa was first discovered on a farm at nearby Potgietersrus, so anything is possible! |
